Because tungsten carbide is a sintered metallurgical product of powder form. It is manufactured in a vacuum or Hydrogen reduction furnace with refractory Tungsten material (WC) micron powder as the main ingredient and Cobalt (Co), Nickel (Ni), or Molybdenum (Mo) as the binder.
Tungsten carbide not only has the characteristics of high hardness and high wear resistance but also corrosion resistance and salient stability under high temperature (even at 500 ºC it is essentially unchanged and at 1000 ºC it is still of high hardness)

The HRA tester, TRS tester, Metallographic microscope(Check microstructure), coercive force tester, cobalt magnetic tester are used to inspect and make sure the material of carbide strip is good qualified, besides, drop test is added specially to the carbide strip inspection to make sure there is no material flaw in the whole long strip. And the size inspection as per order.
Application of tungsten carbide strips
The contents of WC and Co in tungsten carbide strips with different uses are not consistent, and the application range is wide. Tungsten carbide strip is widely known as one kind of carbide cutting tool. Which is suitable for treating solid wood, shaving board, and middle-density fiberboard? Cemented carbide strips can be used to make woodworking tools, such as forming tools, reamer, serrated knife blades,s, and various blades.
The hardness increases as the cobalt decreases and the
diameter of tungsten carbide particles decreases. The flexural strength increases as
the cobalt increases and the diameter of tungsten carbide decreases.
Therefore, it is a very important step to choose the most suitable grade according to
different uses, different materials processed, and different working environments.
