Spotlight on ZZBETTER Tungsten Carbide Strips

Before you know our products, we would better get familiar with the grades of tungsten carbide strips. There are three grades that we recommend. The first one is YG8. YG8 is a popular grade, which is not only used for tungsten carbide strips, but also popular for manufacturing tungsten carbide buttons, tungsten carbide rods, tungsten carbide dies, and so many more. YG8 always contains 8% cobalt powder and more than 90% tungsten carbide powder as well as a little other additive material. The hardness of YG8 tungsten carbide strips can reach HRA90-90.5. And its density is about 14.8 g/cm3. YG8 has very great stability and can be used for cutting solid wood and dry wood.

The second grade I want to recommend is YG10X. What does the YG10X mean? That means, there is 10% cobalt when mixing, and the grain size of YG10X will be fine grain. YG10X can be used for manufacturing cast iron, non-ferrous materials, stainless steel, heat-resistant steel, nickel and titanium alloy, and other materials.

And the third one is YL10.2. YL10.2 is updated from YG10X. Compared with YG10X, it has higher hardness(HRA91-91.5) and higher transverse rupture strength(3000-3300N/mm2). It can be used for manufacturing hard solid wood, and metal foil. YL10.2 is more durable and can work for longer life, but also more difficult for welding.

 

Now, let’s turn to our tungsten carbide strips. At the very beginning, I would like to introduce the conventional tungsten carbide strips. The most common tungsten carbide strips are in rectangular shape. They are also known as rectangular tungsten carbide rods, tungsten carbide flats, and tungsten carbide flat bars. When you purchase from us, you should tell us the length, width, and thickness you want. Tungsten carbide strips are made from tungsten carbide powder and other metal powder, like cobalt(Co), nickel(Ni), or molybdenum(Mo) as the binder. They are made by powder metallurgy, through mixing, ball milling, spray drying, compacting, sintering, and a series of checking. The main properties of tungsten carbide will show on the tungsten carbide strips, especially when manufacturing. It has high hardness, wear resistance, and high strength so it can work for a long time. Tungsten carbide strips are widely used in manufacturing woodworking blades, stamping dies, wear parts, cutters for the metalworking, textile tools, crushing tools, and so many more.

 

Customized production is also available. Here are two hot-sell products of our own. The first one is the ultra-long tungsten carbide strips. ZZBETTER masters the high-end powder metallurgy technique to produce 1.8m tungsten carbide strips. The ultra-long tungsten carbide strips are used on the cutting machine or splitting machine. In the past, when we don’t have the ability to produce that long tungsten carbide strips, our customers can only purchase 330mm tungsten carbide strips and get them to work together. Now we can produce that and guarantee the quality and package.

 

Now let’s turn to our non-standard tungsten carbide strips, and they can be manufactured as some cutter. Threaded holes, inclined holes, and through holes can be manufactured on the tungsten carbide strips, and other processes like sharpening, circular arc, slotting, finishing, and so many more are also available for tungsten carbide strips.

As for the cutters, here are two examples. The first one is a cutter with a triangle head and slot. The top tip is used for cutting films and plastics.

 

The second one is also manufactured from tungsten carbide strips, which are used for the weights, such as fishing counterweights, medical instrument counterweights, shielding materials, shotgun projectiles, counterweights for motorboats, sailboats, submarines, and other water transport tools, ballast, etc.

Even though this product is in small size, it has high density, high melting point, high hardness, high wear resistance, high strength, good thermal stability, impact resistance, and so many more. In view of the above-mentioned functions of high specific gravity alloys, it is widely used in industries such as aerospace, aviation, oil drilling, electrical instruments, and medicine.
